TraPac Los Angeles Automated Terminal Tour
12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
In 2008, TraPac a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. (MOL) and now a part of the Ocean Network Express (ONE), renegotiated a 30-year lease with the Port of Los Angeles. As part of this multiyear endeavor, TraPac partnered with Kalmar to modernize the container terminal founded in 1985 in a manner that would improve safety, operational efficiency, and environmental friendliness. Kalmar’s conversion of the brown-field legacy facility to an automated state-of-the-art terminal while ensuring continuity of operations was the first of its kind in North America.
During this tour, attendees will see firsthand how Kalmar and TraPac have partnered to achieve end-to-end efficiency through automation. Attendees will see a combination of Kalmar equipment like its Automatic Stacking Cranes, automated straddle carriers and automated truck handling. Watch this video for a glimpse of what you’ll experience on this tour.
